Travel Goals
A few years ago I told a friend my goal is to travel, mainly internationally, 4 months out of the year. While spending summer and early fall in Seattle is a must, spending at least part of the wet, dreary Northwest winter months in warmer climes would be ideal. As a budget conscious traveler, taking advantage of spring and fall shoulder seasons would also factor into the travel equation.
Goals take time to achieve, especially this one which involves so many moving parts. Retiring was a first step and then one trip lead to another and another and so on. Recently, when discussing adventures in Asia and Europe with a young friend who is preparing for her own adventure in New Zealand, I realized the extent of my travels in the last year and a half. My goal was a reality. I am grateful for the chance to see unique sights, meet interesting people and try new foods. Travel became a priority, a fun adventure and a priceless learning experience.
My young friend said, ‘you are living your best life.’ So true. I am humbled this goal came true, but have more travel dreams to fulfill. This is a beginning. More adventures are on the horizon. The first
